United offers text messaging service that allows you to receive flight information on your mobile device. Please see the text messaging terms and conditions below for full details, including possible fees associated with text messaging.
Text messaging service is not available in all countries.
Text messaging terms and conditions
By opting in for text messaging service, you, the user, agree to the Terms and Conditions for United as well as our Privacy Policy. You also agree to the following as it pertains to specific usage of the text messaging service:
Usage
User acknowledges that text messages are distributed via third-party mobile network providers and therefore United cannot control certain factors relating to message delivery. User acknowledges that, depending on the recipient's mobile provider service, it may not be possible to transmit the text message to the recipient successfully. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
United does not claim or guarantee availability or performance of this service, including liability for transmission delays or message failures.
United Airlines and MileagePlus Promotional Alerts
Our MileagePlus program alerts will send you timely communications about your MileagePlus program status information, about MileagePlus program benefits, and how to earn and use miles for award travel, upgrades, merchandise, exclusive experiences and more. Text messaging is not available in all countries. U.S. supported carriers include AT&T, U.S. Cellular®, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Cricket, Boost, Virgin Mobile USA, T-Mobile®, and MetroPCS. Canada supported carriers include Aliant Mobility, Bell Mobility, Eastlink, Fido, Mobilicity, MTS, Northern Tel Mobility, Public Mobile, Rogers Wireless, SaskTel Mobility, Tèlèbec Mobilitè, TELUS Mobility, Videotron, Virgin Mobile Canada and WIND Mobile. Standard messaging and data rates may apply. Messaging frequency varies.
Opt-in: To opt-in to MileagePlus text messaging, visit https://cloud.enews.united.com/sms-optin. You will receive a confirmation SMS message confirming your enrollment in SMS communications. Reply ‘Y’ or ‘Yes’ to complete the opt-in. Message and data rates may apply. Subscribers may reply HELP for HELP or reply STOP to CANCEL. Message frequency varies.
Opt-out: You may opt out by replying "STOP" from your mobile device or by calling your local reservations office.

Flight status notification service
Our flight status notification service will send you flight updates and reminders every time you travel with United. You will receive operational notifications about your upcoming travel, as well as check-in reminders. Text messaging is not available in all countries. U.S. supported carriers are AT&T, U.S. Cellular®, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Cricket, Boost, Virgin Mobile USA, T-Mobile®, and MetroPCS. Canada supported carriers are Aliant Mobility, Bell Mobility, Eastlink, Fido, Mobilicity, MTS, Northern Tel Mobility, Public Mobile, Rogers Wireless, SaskTel Mobility, Tèlèbec Mobilitè, TELUS Mobility, Videotron, Virgin Mobile Canada and WIND Mobile. Standard messaging and data rates may apply. Messaging frequency varies based on customer preferences and the status of flight operations.
Opt-in: To opt in to United's flight status notification text messaging, provide your mobile phone number during booking or check-in with United, or go to the Phone Settings section of your profile at united.com. Select View all under your primary phone number and then Edit for the mobile device on which you wish to receive texts. Check the text messaging option and save your settings. You will need to click on the link that says "Make this my flight notification phone number." A confirmation will be sent to you.

Flight reminders
Flight reminders allow you to share the details of your flight with others who are using SMS-enabled mobile phones. This service is available on the United app or on the Flight Reminders page of united.com. U.S. supported carriers are AT&T, U.S. Cellular®, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Cricket, Boost, Virgin Mobile USA, T-Mobile®, and MetroPCS. Canada supported carriers are Aliant Mobility, Bell Mobility, Eastlink, Fido, Mobilicity, MTS, Northern Tel Mobility, Public Mobile, Rogers Wireless, SaskTel Mobility, Tèlèbec Mobilitè, TELUS Mobility, Videotron, Virgin Mobile Canada and WIND Mobile. Opt-in: To opt in to United’s flight reminder text messaging, provide your mobile phone number on the United app or at united.com. A confirmation message will only be sent to customers in the U.S. or Canada.
Opt-out: You may opt out by replying "STOP" from your mobile device. No further action is needed. If you do not have a message from United to reply to, call your local reservations office to opt out.

Text message troubleshooting
If you are not receiving messages from United please ensure that text messaging is not disabled on your phone. You may also contact your local United reservations office for assistance.

Fees
United does not charge a fee for text messaging service. While we do not charge for this service, we are not responsible for any charges from a person's service provider that may result from our providing this service. It is the user's responsibility to check with their individual carrier, as standard messaging and data rates may apply. United assumes no responsibility for charges incurred by signing up for this text messaging service. Any text messaging fees that you incur will be billed on your individual mobile provider bill.
